Upside down - 2 weeks before leaving house

Everything is piled up or strewn about now. We are moving from decorating, to unpacking cupboards, to paperwork, to the usual feeding Joseph, playing with Joseph, doing nappies for Joseph etc. Joseph initiates these conversations 'Mamma?' - 'Yes Joseph' - 'Mamma?' - 'Yes Joseph' ... can go on for ever until I start talking in sentences to him. Do you think he is being ignored?

The loft conversion is very very nearly there, including all the decorating. We were planning a before and after photo, but the before photos will just have to do for now, to get you filled with anticipation for the next posting. Will try to remember to post a couple of after shots. It's looking good!

Preparing to go . . .

18/8/05: 3 weeks to finish the loft conversion, pack our house and sort our admin, then off to Laos for 2 weeks before a great send off to Sri Lanka on 8th October.

All's going well as we catch up with family and friends, sort our vaccinations, redirect post, buy mosquito nets and water filters, and Mike tries to get his head around his new role, compiling resources for constructing hundreds of houses, schools, medical centres, other public buildings water and wastewater networks, dams and lots more.

Loads of friends, family and colleagues have offered great support. It's pretty amazing, and we're so grateful that everything's coming together so well.
